Kantha is a centuries-old tradition from rural Bengal. Layers of fine discarded fabrics are quilted together to create textured 'canvases' upon which women express themselves through embroidered imagery. The word "Kantha" can refer to both the type of stitch and the cloth. Learn more about Kantha:
